I'm Ryan. I'm 23 from Duluth, MN. Been playing drums since the 5th grade but it doesn't show all that much. I'll get around to uploading some photos of my modest set. It's a four-piece Ludwig Vistalite kit. It makes the noises I need.

Coolness! So your using the 13" as a floor tom? Zen had a black Vista 16" Floor Tom for salefor a long time, but it's gone now. Too bad!

Vistalites are always so nice.
I'm curious too... Is that a 13" for the floor?

I know this "Glisten" character.
Watch out for him... he's trouble... what, with his fancy vintage Lude-wig Vistalites...

age - 27 sex - m locale - VA been drumming since I was 7. first kit at 11. Same kit I have now, actually. Just upgraded/updated things along the way Currently: 1986 Sonor Performer ZXT's all around DW 9000 pedals Sonor/Gibraltar Hardware Grew up on stuff my dad listened to (Boston, ZZ, AC/CD, Led, that sorta stuff). First album that REALLY made me branch out was Appetite For Destruction. Got the LP when I was 10 or so, and it "changed" me. After that it was onto Sabbath and the whole late 60's/early 70's stuff. Deep Purple, Cream, Hendrix. First band was a Misfits cover project. We played originals but we concentrated on overplaying simple songs. Hey, we were 14 and it was the easiest way to learn to play "as a group". Also played in jazz band during high school. Did a year of jazz band in college (the only year I went) before leaving for the Air Force. While in Italy I played in 2 bands. First was an instrumental project with music similar to the first two coheed albums. In keeping secrets.... especially - very Rush influenced as well. Second was a rock/surf/ska/punk outfit w/myself and one of the guitar players from the first outfit. The second guy PCS'd (left for the states) so we had to find something new. Found a singer/guitar player and a bass player, off we went. Played a slew of shows, won talent shows (battle of the bands sorta stuff) and threw all sorts of gigs on base ranging from award ceremonies to parties and bar shows (basically any place that would have us ) and had a great time with it. I only wish that all our tour of duty dates lined up so we could've continued once we got out and back to civilian life. Oh well, it was fun stuff. After getting out I have only played in a group setting (usually just a single guitarist and myself) as a project sorta thing on two occasions. Nothing much came from either collaboration. And another when I first moved to VA I played w/a band looking for a drummer for months. This only lasted 2 or 3 months as the commute was over an hour in each direction...just not worth it to me. Anyway - that's me - wish I had the income to just play and do as I pleased, but I don't. With a g/f in college fulltime and a 3 year old daughter you have to prioritize at the sake of your own wants. Comes w/the territory I guess edit: added drum description

Welcome! Please take a moment and familiarize yourself with the forum rules and then perhaps Stump or Zen will want to move this to the introductions thread.
