I'm not playing this event, but my backing tracks are! Well, we finally got the finishing touches on the two tracks I produced for one of the more outrageous drag performers I've ever seen, and now the EP is being officially released tomorrow. We're having a li'l shindig at one of the larger local clubs here in Austin, Elysium. If you're in town, come on down! Paul Soileau, who does the Christeene character, made the cover of our local arts/politics/lifestyle rag, the Chronicle: http://www.austinchronicle.com/I'm expecting a HUGE turnout. Every time Paul does the Christeene character, the joint goes bananas. Look up Christeene on the web if you want to see the freaking outrageous videos. I'd post the links here, but they're NOT appropriate for younger viewers. Just trust me, don't look at the vids at work. Tom RLRRLL can attest to what I'm talking about.

I played every last little bit and did all of the arrangement on Slowly/Easy and Tears From My P#$%y. In both cases, Paul came to me with a lyric and vocal, and I built the songs from the ground up around the vocal. I play live drums and keyboards on Tears From My P#$%y, everything on Slowly/Easy is programmed electronics.
Yeah, Funny or Die is the site they're on. And I reiterate: NSFW NSFW NSFW. Nothing actually pornographic, but there's a couple of nudie shots and LOTS of innuendo.

umm...SEVERAL hundred people (I'm guessing in the 700+ range), made a bunch of new contacts with bands/artists that I like...some of those I might be getting into some electronic arrangement/production for cash for...all in all, a good night!
renewed contact with a bunch of musicians I'd lost track of, saw some old friends, enjoyed the taste of a nice scotch and soda or two...all while listening to random people I don't know scream out powerhammer in my general directon.

I had lots of floks at NAMM that said "hello Zen", or "Hi Mike", to me that I have NEVER met and I have no clue who they are! Sounds like a blast Alan, I wish I could have made it!

Great job Alan! Really cool beats. Fit like a glove IMO. And I love the moniker "Powerhammer", that's so boss! Also kudos on a great networking/catching up opportunity! Can't have enough of that!
